Perhaps the most important question in the AMA. It makes us think how much of the sounds on Hi This Is Flume are happy accidents… His current favorite artist to work with is JPEGMAFIA.īoth Flume and JPEG are both amazing creatives, and Flume says that they both get excited about the mistakes they make when in the studio. This collaboration would surely be legendary. Similar things could be said about Flume, especially with this most recent project. The Venezuelan artist Arca could be described as someone who turns music into poetry. His current dream collab is with Bjork collaborator Arca. We can only imagine the trippy bangers that those two would cook up. In a concise answer, Flume stated that he “would be down” to work with Travis. He’s interested in collaborating with Travis Scott. I was doing interview after interview, it stopped being fun. When asked about the decision to go in an experimental route with the mixtape, he responded with this: “I felt like I needed to. He considers Hi This Is Flume a return to his roots. “Making some of those sounds felt like such a breakthrough,” he mentions. The entire mixtape is just bursting with sound design, but “Amber” still happens to be a clear standout for us. His favorite song off of Hi This Is Flume is “ Amber.” In response to a question, he states that he doesn’t “want to disappear for so long again.” Amazing news for us diehards. After touring nonstop and finishing up Skin, Flume needed some Harley time. The beloved Aussie beatsmith was no doubt feeling the pressure after such intense success at such a young age. We can expect regular releases from him again. Here are some of the most interesting things we learned from the Q&A session: We were already treated to the amazing Hi This is Flume Mixtape, a separate, brand new track with Reo Cragun, and now we get to dive deeper into the mind of Flume with surprise AMA he did on Reddit. I’m so excited to get those out! Some of you have seen I’ve been in with Ferg, Mø, Tove Lo, More with Daniel Johns, LXP, Offbloom etc. There’s no doubt that Flume season is in full swing. WSN: I actually took some of the biggest songs of the album because they didn’t feel right for the narrative I wanted. R: And lastly, are there any collabs in the works that didn’t make the album or maybe will be coming out soon that you can tease for us? (Like maybe a Flume or another RL collab, etc.) He’s Got Tons of Unreleased Collabs On the Horizon WSN: I’d prob be a more boring version of myself in an unimaginative lifestyle none the wiser of what could have been if I didn’t back myself, take big risks & pick myself up every time I was beat down. R: What do you think you would be doing if you weren’t working in the music industry? If He Weren’t Making Music He’d Be An Uninspired Average Joe As mentioned I compromised my entire social & personal life for 1.5yrs to make it, so enjoy that should you choose :)) 9. WSN: Probably more sense to singles & EP’s unless you’re really gonna go in on it. R: Looking back, do you thinking making an album is a worthwhile experience these days or does it make more sense to go the increasingly popular singles/EP route? WSN Spent a Year And a Half Working on NATBT I hope the stories help others who themselves in similar situations. Writing music for me also helps me reflect/deal with/find peace with experiences & moments in my life. A joyful escape, full of friendly faces & good energy. WSN: Aim of my music & every facet around it (production, stage design, artwork, visuals) it is to create a world people can step into. R: Has anyone ever told you that you look like a reverse Smurf? Also (Actual question) what would you say the aim of your music is? WSN’s Aim is To Create An Escape From Reality Every time people tried to bring me down I imagined myself riding up a mountain on a horse, wearing a Viking helmet, throwing lightning bolts at everyone in my way. Extortion, ransom, fraud, people stealing/not crediting/blocking others work. R: I was just wondering where the idea for the Horse motif came from and why you’ve decided to keep using after Divide & Conquer?
